What the client needed

Magazine Project Proposal

The project is to publish a print magazine for our core audience. In achieving the following objectives, the magazine will deliver on our brand promise:

Deliver content to our audience that is relevant, is of lasting value, and helps these publishers flourish and succeed.
Demonstrate our periodical production capabilities by delivering a high-quality publication each and every issue.

Communicate that we love and understand publishing as much as our audience does.

My part of the project

Design & Layout

Rather than ramble on about this one, here’s the brief that was given to me. “ This is a magazine for magazine lovers. Given our expertise, it should reflect our love of print magazines: High-quality paper, excellent design, impeccable color. Emphasis is on something tactile, beautiful, and rich.
“Presumably, most readers of and : read those publications at the office. We want our publication to be so pleasant to page through and so engaging to read that our readers take it home and sit on the couch to read it. We want this to be the publication they save, dog-ear, and tear pages out of to circulate and file.
“Words/phrases to describe the look & feel of this magazine:
Clean and uncluttered
Lots of white space
Contemporary
Intelligent, insightful, incisive
Creative, unconventional, adventurous, unexpected, rich, luscious
Accessible, engaging, actionable ”
